About Us
Sally Guthart, owner and principal designer at Earthborn Landscape Design, brings almost two decades of design experience and plant knowledge to her work of creating beautiful and sustainable landscapes. She specializes in designing low-water landscapes (xeriscapes) with a strong focus on native plants. With an eye for color and detail, she creates landscapes that are a delight to view, a joy to be in, and a friendly place for pollinators.
Sally’s education and work experience for the past 18 years has been centered around plants and landscaping. Before that, she earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice, was a stay-at-home mom and active community volunteer. In 2004, she turned her love of the outdoors, her knowledge of plants, and her passion for design into a new career as a landscape designer. Her Associates of Applied Science in Horticulture and Landscape Technologies from Front Range Community College and Native Plant Master Certification from the Larimer County Extension at Colorado State University are complemented by earlier course work in color and design at Colorado State University and the University of California – Los Angeles.
A native plant enthusiast and avid hiker, Sally finds inspiration for her designs in the majesty of the mountains and the peaceful beauty of the prairies.
